In the Khojbal Village of Gujarat’s Bharuch district, health interventions form an integral pillar of Project Tarang, embedded within the school and community ecosystem. The programme recognises the strong link between health, nutrition, and learning outcomes.
Key health initiatives include:
Regular camps conducted at the school and community level with medical specialists, enabling early identification of common and chronic health conditions.
Screening for anaemia, undernutrition, BMI, eye health, blood sugar, and general health, followed by counselling, supplementation, and referrals where required.
Structured referral pathways to district hospitals, supported by organised transportation to ensure timely access to secondary and tertiary healthcare.
Individual health cards to track screening results, referrals, and follow-up care, enabling continuity and monitoring over time.
Nutrition, hygiene, menstrual health, and preventive healthcare sessions conducted with frontline workers to improve health-seeking behaviour and treatment adherence.
Through this integrated approach, Project Tarang has reached hundreds of community members, demonstrating strong participation, high follow-up, and improved preventive care uptake.
