Job Title: Project Coordinator
Location: Mumbai (with extensive travel across Maharashtra & Gujarat)
Experience: 2–4 years

I. About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support the planning, execution, and monitoring of on-ground social sector projects. The role requires strong coordination skills, the ability to work closely with local NGOs, government bodies, community leaders, and funders, and a hands-on approach to operations and logistics. This position involves frequent travel to project locations across Maharashtra and Gujarat and requires someone who is comfortable working in diverse community settings.

II. Key Responsibilities:

A] Project Coordination & Implementation

  • Support end-to-end implementation of social sector projects in coordination with implementing partners
  • Liaise with local NGOs, government departments, schools, health centres, and community leaders
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and milestones
  • Conduct regular field visits and support on-ground teams

B] Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key point of contact between partners, funders, and internal teams
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, and review sessions with stakeholders
  • Maintain strong working relationships with community members and local authorities

C] Operations & Logistics

  • Manage day-to-day project operations and field logistics
  • Support procurement, vendor coordination, and activity planning
  • Ensure smooth execution of field activities and events

D] Reporting & Documentation

  • Assist in proposal writing, concept notes, and presentations
  • Prepare regular progress reports, field visit notes, and documentation
  • Support impact data collection and basic analysis

E] Communication & Outreach

  • Support social media content related to projects (field updates, stories, visuals)
  • Coordinate with design/content teams for reports and communication materials
  • Assist in donor communication and updates

III. Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong coordination and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with NGOs, community-based organisations, or government bodies
  • Basic understanding of project planning, budgets, and reporting
  • Comfortable with fieldwork and community engagement
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Proficiency in MS Office / Google Workspace
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms and content coordination

IV. Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in the social/development sector
  • Experience working on education, health, livelihoods, or community development projects is preferred
  • Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of Marathi and/or Gujarati is a strong advantage

V. Travel Requirement:

  • Willingness to travel extensively across Maharashtra and Gujarat, including rural and semi-urban areas
